Midnights!

So, here’s a poem I crafted using titles from Taylor Swift’s Midnights album, this is a love letter to 3 AM thoughts, bad decisions, and slightly overdramatic musings. It is a little bit of lavender haze, a little bit quarter-life crisis, and a whole lot of not understanding why I suddenly want to dance in a white dress (that might be a bad idea).

So, here’s me, dipping into Taylor’s world, shaking off the past, and pretending I’m the main character. And If you find yourself humming “Anti-Hero” or “Lavender Haze” while reading this, you’re not alone.

Ready?

P.S: I promise, no actual wine was spilled during this writing process… maybe.

She walks into a club, like a bejeweled.
A shimmer in her eyes, in the crowded night.
She feels like a mess but a mastermind.
The one who writes her own destiny,
Not so dramatic but full of surprise.

A distant song hit the bar.
Her song, she used to dance.
But it hits different this time.

Lost in her delusional,
lavender haze.
She makes a way gracefully,
On the dance floor,
Through the vigilante shit world.

Someone comes out of the blue,
Spill the wine on her and flew
Was it on purpose or a glitch?
Confused as hell as she couldn’t tell
he made an apology as well
But an insincere one, she surely can tell,
not to look that bad.

Her white dress now turned maroon
like her home town sky she knew.
It reminds her of an innocent smile.
A summer back, she used to call it mine.

He promised her dance
under the starry sky,
But eventually drifted apart.
Leave her with sweet nothing but sugar-coated lies.

She shakes his image off.
No questions for him,
No would’ve, could’ve, should’ve anymore.
Her anti-hero died that night,
Which was once bigger than the whole sky.
She lets karma roll eyes.
And she continues her dance tonight,
like the first snow on the beach.
And just like that
She met herself at midnight like this.
